Unoriginal, Unimaginative, Uninspired...

Hello, Welcome to the Bastion Blog.

There is blog on our myspace page (www.myspace.com/bastionuk) but here there is even more blog.

I think we'll mainly use this for adding silly pictures, maybe some thoughts on shows and news updates rather than spamming the fuck out of the bulletin to friends thing on myspace.

So to start off: Currently what's happening with us. Dave is recovering at home from some minor surgery, so we're not doing anything in the way of playing shows / practicing / recording for a little while.

Our next show is 13th March @ The Hobgoblin, Brighton - We're supporting Off with their Heads again which is pretty amazing - and the other bands on the bill are frankly killer - The Blankheads, Attack! Vipers! and Cop Out, have seen all of these at least once or twice and they're all infinitely better than us so we'll have to practice and make sure we're not too embarrasingly rusty after our break from playing. We'll probably play pretty much 70% of our album, which is a mix of older and brand new songs.

A couple of weeks later we'll be off on tour, with (for hopefully all, but at least half the dates) Just Panic (www.myspace.com/Justpanic from Southport / Liverpool who we've played with a few times and are top chaps and amazing live, they play a Mix of Gruff Pop punk with amazing harmonies and some folky moments - kind of an awesome northern Against Me! So we'll get to watch them play every day, and they'll have to watch us - We definitely have the better deal.

So far the tour looks like:

Thursday 2nd April - TBC but hopefully somewhere daaaaaan south
Friday 3rd April - Kingston, Fighting Cocks - and if the bands confirm with an AMAZING line up!
Saturday 4th April - Nottingham, Venue TBC - With our hosts The Human Targets (www.myspace.com/thehumantargets) who play ace Beatsteaks influenced Melodic Punk.
Sunday 5th April - WE NEED THIS DATE OR....
Monday 6th April - WE NEED THIS DATE. (We'll play Liverpool the other day, but if someone can help sort us a show for 5th or 6th we'll be eternally grateful*)
Tuesday 7th April - Birmingham, The Adam & Eve (free entry show)
Wednesday 8th April - Swansea, I can't remember the venues name at the moment - but with Peachfuzz - who frankly sound very decent indeed.
Thursday 9th April - Brighton, The Hobgoblin with You Me and The Atom Bomb, Those Damn Owls, Laughing in the Face Of (and possibly one more) - YMATAB won't be able to headline / play last as they have to catch a train so they'll be playing slapbang in the middle of this people.

*Grateful / able to offer a brighton show in return sometime in future.

Recorded stuff:

Album is fully recorded, mixed etc etc. We are proud of it. We're currently finishing the artwork which was hand-drawn by all 4 of us over a few beers, it's definitely titled 'Consequences', it's definitely 14 songs in length. I'd like to say it'll definitely be available at our next show, but it will probably be....

Tracklist on that badboy is:

1. Beasts
2. Big Yellow
3. One For The Road
4. Dooomed!
5. D.A.V.E.T.O.O.
6. Falling Down
7. Detectives
8. Trust Me
9. No Way! Jose!
10. Verging On Violence
11. I Don't Like Your Face, Pal
12. Make Slogans History
13. No Sleep 'Til Brighton
14. Velocity

AND we're going to be on a 7" vinyl release. Which is a nice surprise. Jake from the band TAT is starting a label: Lost London Records with a chap called Will. They asked us to feature on the first release with 3 other bands (Moral Dilemma, The Kramers and Armed Response Unit). We said yes. Artwork looks pretty sweet too. Should be out by March also, and hopefully in time for tour. Brilliant.

That's pretty much everything for now, once we have the artwork finalised for both releases I'll post it up here.

Cheers for reading
